LGA 2011 Socket photos and specs with quad-channel DDR3

LGA 2011 Socket , also known as Socket R is Pixelized over the Chinese website zol.com.cn , the website leaked 3 picture of an unknown motherboard with the new intel high-end CPU socket .

 
The new Intel socket is expected to be released alongside Sandy Bridge-EX in Q3 2011 supporting up to 12 cores per Core i7 processor, and will support 4 memory channels as well as 40× PCIe 3.0 lanes , also intel merged the northbridge component completely into the CPU package,  the socket will measure 58.5mm x 51mm, and the good news is that the LGA 2011 Socket is backwards compatible with LGA 1366 cooling systems.
