How to Backup/restore all Firefox data after new Windows installation
Hello Firefox users , All of you don't want to loose time on installing your Firefox add-on or saving your passwords again when you reinstall your Windows .
That's why today I want to introduce a trick that help you to restore all your Mozilla Firefox browser data after a new Windows installed, and when I say all , I mean everything from saved forms and passwords to bookmarks , plugins and websites setting.
That's why today I want to introduce a trick that help you to restore all your Mozilla Firefox browser data after a new Windows installed, and when I say all , I mean everything from saved forms and passwords to bookmarks , plugins and websites setting.
Also with this method you don't need any software , tools or add-on , all you will do is copy and paste ,
So the steps are easy lets begin with the backup phase :
before you format or reinstall another windows , first :
- Create folder in a 2nd partition for example "D:" or in a flash drive and name it for example "Backup" and create "Roaming" folder inside.
- Close firefox
- Go to "C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming" and copy the "Mozilla" to your Backup\Roaming , where (username) is the name of your windows session , the "C" is the system letter it depend on your system .
- Now go to "C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local" and copy the "Mozilla" folder to your Backup folder .
- Now all your data are safe you can reinstall you windows .
When you finish reinstall your Windows , install Firefox and :
- Copy the Mozilla folder inside "Backup\Roaming" back to "C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming"
- And copy the "Mozilla" folder inside "Backup" folder back to "C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local".
That's it ,a very simple and fast method, now ALL your data are in safe ,and from now don't be afraid from installing a new system from now.
