iPhone 5s to use a Quad-core CPU 20nm TSMC based ?

Fresh information leaked today on "China Economic News" reveals that Apple will cooperate with TSMC for it's next generation of processors using an all new 20nm process technology which will promise a higher performance with a lower power consumption leading to a longer battery life than the current generation.


The new chip will be a Quad-core based chip and it's planed to be used on the next Ipad, and based on Apple strategy, the same one will be equipped on the next iPhone 5s smartphone, clearely to counter it's direct rival, Samsung Galaxy series, note that Apple will also change it's LCD display building process to a non-Korean firms.

"Hsu also indicated that preliminary production may begin next month, with volume production expected to begin near the end of 2013."
