Radeon HD 8790M Vs HD 7690M first Benchmark leaked
This graphic card is a successor of the Radeon HD 7600M as report the source, the GPU used on the Radeon HD 8790M is a 28nm based, powered with 384 ALUs with a core running at 900MHz, total of 2GB GDDR5 clocked at 4000MHz, and a 128-bit memory bus, using the all new GCN architecture.
With the help of AMD, we've tried a different approach this time. AMD supplied the aforementioned GPUs—the Radeon HD 8790M and 7690M—as bare MXM modules, each one with its own, dedicated cooler. For our test platform, AMD sent us an MXM to PCI Express x16 adapter alongside an off-the-shelf desktop processor, motherboard, and memory. Using this setup, we're able to test mobile GPUs free from the confines of notebooks or proprietary qualification hardware.
They tested the mobile graphic card using a desktop setup (Core i7-3770K and a Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H motherboard) connected to an PCIe using an AMD's MXM adapter, they compared the HD 8790M provided with the previous generation Radeon HD 7690M supposed to be a very close one but using 40nm and old architecture.
